IABC Cleveland presents its annual Vision Awards and names its Communicator of the Year at its Vision Awards luncheon 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. June 11 at Windows on the River on the West Bank of the Flats in Cleveland. The event, which honors the achievements of exceptional professionals in marketing, corporate communications, design and PR, costs $50 for members, $75 for non-members, $30 for students and $350 for a table of eight.
The keynote speaker for the event is this year's Communicator of the Year, Stephen Fry, president, Northeast Ohio Division of Time Warner Cable. Fry earned the honor in part for his innovative approach to communicating with employees, which has paid dividends as his division has grown into the second- largest for the company.
The Vision Awards are IABC Cleveland's premier honors for excellence, recognizing projects in a variety of marketing communication, internal communication and public relations categories.
In addition to recognizing outstanding achievements in business communication, IABC will award its second-annual Future Vision Award scholarship, given to an outstanding local student working toward a degree in a communication field. This year's recipient is Angela Kaufman, a junior journalism major at Bowling Green State University.
To help fund the scholarship program, the Vision Awards program also includes a silent auction featuring exciting donations from a variety of local businesses.
