On the Same Page, Ashe County's Literary Festival, will feature a complete line-up of authors and events for 2010, including a number of events that preface the festival. Held each year in September, the 2010 festival will start on Tuesday, September 14 and culminate with a luncheon on Saturday, September 18 -- all in West Jefferson, NC. Preface events kicked-off on August 2nd with the start of the Community Read of Big Fish: A Novel of Mythic Proportions by Daniel Wallace, a featured author at the festival.
Ashe County's Literary Festival, in its third year, will run from September 14 – September 18, 2010, in West Jefferson, NC.

Festival culminates with On the Same Plate Luncheon and Panel Discussion with authors on Saturday, September 18 at noon.
Festival co-chairs Jane Lonon, executive director of the Ashe County Arts Council, and Jim McQueen, director of the Ashe County Library, announced this year's line-up and schedule. In a statement about the festival, Lonon said, "This year we truly have something for everyone. Festival events promote reading, writing, and the pure enjoyment of the written word. North Carolina authors are nationally and internationally known and we have some of the very best joining us to share their writing and insights—particularly concerning how a sense of place influences their writing."
Authors slated for this year's festival include: Fred Chappell, Julia Ebel, Georgann Eubanks, John Hart, D. G. Martin, Robert Morgan, Ed Southern and Daniel Wallace. Authors will read from recent works, participate in Q&A sessions and/or a panel discussion, and will meet in small groups with for "an hour with an author" sessions.

Once again the recipient of a grant from the North Carolina Humanities Council, a statewide nonprofit affiliated with the National Endowment for the Humanities, the 2010 Festival has received support from Skyline Membership Corp., South Arts, Ashe County, the West Jefferson TDA, the Friends of the Ashe County Public Library, and Caddell Communications, as well as a number of individual contributors.
